Who we are

A consultancy built on expertise, driven by ambition.

Founded by a team of Chartered Engineers who connected early in their careers, Mellor Brook Group was created with a shared vision: a consultancy that gives back to the community. We put people, sustainability and community impact at the heart of every engineering solution.

Our expertise spans civil engineering, highways, drainage and transport — a trusted, client-focused approach backed by genuine technical excellence. Defined by design. Shaped by solutions.

More about us
What we do

Seven disciplines, one coordinated team.

From the first feasibility sketch to construction-ready models, we cover the full lifecycle of highway and infrastructure design — joined up, compliant and buildable.

01

Commercial Development

Practical, fully coordinated civil engineering design for residential and commercial schemes — road geometry, earthworks modelling, drainage, kerbing and pavement design.

02

Major Highways

Section 38/278 design, Smart Motorways, Active Travel schemes, junction improvements, traffic-flow assessments and road safety works to national standards.

03

S38 / S278 Planning & Development

Adoptable highway and infrastructure design that carries developers from concept through technical approval to handover and adoption.

04

3D Modelling & Analysis

Full 3D modelling, clash detection, visualisation and BIM integration using Civil 3D and Navisworks to de-risk delivery and prove constructability.

05

Operational Road Safety

Feasibility studies, concept layouts, technical due diligence, GG104 safety audits, tender documentation and utility coordination.

06

Drainage & Transport Planning

Drainage and SuDS strategies, flood-risk assessment and transport planning that support both planning applications and construction.

07

Intelligent Transportation Systems

Design and technology management for ITS — variable message signs, traffic signals, emergency refuge areas, CCTV and the networks behind them.

Isle of Man Residential Development

Civil engineering design and infrastructure coordination for a 30+ plot residential development. A 3D model informed finished levels and earthworks, with construction packs prepared for adoption under S4/S109 — carriageways, footways, kerbing and drainage.

Why MBG

Partner-led delivery, to the standards that matter.

Every project is led personally by our Partners — ensuring accountability, clear communication and exceptional results from concept to completion. We design to the frameworks the industry trusts.

  • Personal accountability. A Partner owns your project end to end — not a rotating cast of juniors.
  • Buildable by design. 3D-first workflows in Civil 3D and Navisworks catch clashes before site does.
  • Compliance as standard. DMRB, MCHW, GG104 and BIM baked into every deliverable.
  • Community at the core. Safer roads, smarter transport and infrastructure that strengthens places.
What we stand for

Values that shape every decision.

We design with responsibility, balancing innovation with environmental and social impact. Sustainability guides our choices, ensuring our work benefits both today’s needs and future generations.

04

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

We prioritise the wellbeing of our people, clients and communities by upholding the highest safety standards. Health and safety is not negotiable — it is a responsibility we share and live by every day.

05

Charity at the Core

We believe success is measured not only in business outcomes but in the positive impact we create by giving back. A portion of our earnings is set aside to support meaningful causes and strengthen our communities.
